Dining Rooms
The lighting in this Dining Room creates a very dramatic atmosphere. The furniture mixes Chinese antique pieces with mid-century modern chairs and a contemporary Italian dining table. The window treatments are Conrad blinds.
Since the view from the Dining Room is very dramatic (cannot be seen here), it was decided to use no visible window treatments, yet there are Silhouette blinds installed to protect from the fierce sun and give privacy at night. The "silent oboes" provide color and interest.
This dining room shows how well modern art mixes with more traditional furnishings, creating an eclectic style. The built-in hutch and bookshelves were designed to create storage space. The wall color behind the painting, as well as all colors in this room were derived from the painting. The color scheme is split-complementary. This room also shows how a small amount of mill work really gives the room a professional finishing touch.
