Living Areas
This Living Room had to display pieces of art from various countries, as well as hide the TV. Art lighting was installed to show off the beautiful glass art and paintings. The blinds are Conrads and were chosen because they filter the sun and you can still look out at the fabulous view.
The challenge in this beautiful condo Living Room was that it had to be sophisticated enough for grown-up parties as well as be relatively childproof for the grandchildren who visit several times a week. The flat screen TV was built-in above the fireplace and the stereo equipment is stored in the built-in cabinet to the right of it. The table lamp was made from a hand blown glass vase. The baskets on the glass shelving are authentic hand woven Zulu baskets. The paint colors are vivid and give the condo a very warm atmosphere. The lighting (not visible here) makes the condo positively glow at night.
A comfortable window seat for curling up and reading has been installed to the left of the fireplace, in front of a window. The base of the window seat has drawers for storage.
This Family Room is a quiet corner in the house, no TV, just conversation. The sofa and chairs are Mies van der Rohe "Krefeld" Collection, the coffee table Noguchi.
This small porch was closed in with glass brick to create a real entrance. Before, the door opened right into the Living Room.
Custom built sofa with pillows. Lots of texture and color. Handblown colorful glass pendants give a beautiful light.
The design goal for this room was to show off the owners' different pieces of art optimally by placement and lighting; colors in the room are taken from the painting.
Here a whimsical note strikes the person who enters this sitting room, displayed in the design of the draperies, the umbrella lamp, the floor cushions and the custom-designed table, made from an antique Japanese Kotatsu top.
