Living Rooms

Living Room

This Living Room had to display pieces of art from various countries, as well as hide the TV. It had to be comfortable to be in and convenient enough to accommodate visitors. Art lighting was installed to show off the beautiful glass art and paintings. The window treatments were chosen because there is not space along the side of the windows to put draperies. These window treatments filter the sun and you can still look out at the fabulous view.

Living Room

The challenges in this beautiful condo Living Room were, that it had to be sophisticated enough for grown-up parties, as well as be relatively childproof for the grandchildren who visit several times a week. The flat screen TV was built-in above the fireplace and the stereo equipment is stored in the built-in cabinet to the right of it. A comfortable window seat for curling up and reading has been installed to the left of the fireplace, in front of a window. The base of the window seat has drawers for storage. The table lamp was made from a hand blown glass vase. The interesting colorful items on the wall are called "silent oboes", the baskets on the glass shelving are authentic hand woven Zulu baskets. The paint colors are vivid and give the condo a very warm atmosphere. The lighting (not visible here) makes the condo positively glow at night.

Living Room

The design goal for this room was to show off the owners different pieces of art optimally by placement and lighting; to take colors from the painting and create a pleasing complementary color scheme. Also the design principles balance and harmony are well displayed in this room by shapes and placement of furniture and accessories.

Here a whimsical note strikes the person who enters this sitting room, displayed in the design of the draperies, the umbrella lamp, the floor cushions and the custom designed table, made from an antique Japanese Kotatsu top. The color scheme is monochromatic.
